Local collection

Our local collection, which comprises locally relevant (printed) materials, is extremely important, as it reflects the environment’s creativity, culture and identity.

The collection primarily consists materials with content relevant for the Spodnje Podravje region, and secondarily materials linked to the region by its origin (authors, printers). We keep different types of locally relevant materials: books, periodicals, manuscripts, music sheets, maps and photos, small printed materials, etc.

Our collection contains several locally relevant old prints, including the oldest book printed in Ptuj, Hitra inu glatka pot, pruti nebessam, printed by the city’s first printer Franz Anton Schütz.
